Zoom vs Jiomeet

I saw many people were telling JioMeet copied Zoom and putting memes making fun of them. Just think of a company like Jio who is a top MNC in the Telecommunication Industry who has lots of money to invest then why do they have copied the same UI of Zoom. They would have like made a brand new UI as they have an excellent workforce, time, and Money. So why did they take this Decision?

Jio made a smart move considering the current situation. Zoom created many security issues and many people have stopped using zoom. There is a rumour that is spreading at a very faster rate that Zoom is a Chinese company but its an American Company with one of the data centres located in China. So there are lots of people who are looking for alternatives to Zoom or basically an Indian app with the same functionalities.

They used the law of UX known as Jakob’s Law to take this decision. This Law states that “Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means that users prefer your site to work the same way as all the other sites they already know.” So here is the main advantage the target audience of JioMeet have definitely used zoom but they are currently looking for alternatives as a result JioMeet which provides a same user experience and also additional features so people will easily start adapting to it. So there are lots of advantages of using this law are

  1. Less time is required to get familiar to JioMeet as its similar to an existing product

2. Users can easily transfer their expectations from one app to another

3. Easy to create a superior user experience by leveraging the existing one so users will focus on their goals rather than learning to use the new product

Jio even has a Large number of customers and a well-established Market so it will be very easy for them to market or promote the app. All the people with Jio sim will also be given additional offers so they will easily win the game.
